What comes to your mind when you hear “Hey, I am going to Africa? ” I know by now, you have that excited look on your face to either go on a long safari drive or going to the famous azure bylanes of Morocco or perhaps planning to pay a visit to the Pharaoh Himself.
Would you believe me if I told you, I saw white houses with blue-washed windows and entrances just like you’d see them in Greece, especially like the cool vibe in Santorini? Yes, I found a little paradise of blue heaven in Tunisia, the northern part of Africa.

Tunisia is a fascinating destination unlike any other. One that will surprise and delight you in extraordinary ways.

And with a variety of hotels from all-inclusive resorts to luxury and boutique hotels, it’s also one of the best value destinations on the Mediterranean with something for everyone.

Dar Ben Gacem – Hotel In Tunisia

To experience royalty, I made my way to spend just two days in Le Medina, the heart of the Tunis.

My first experience leads to Dar Ben-Gacem a home, which was built in the 17th century and restored into a 7-rooms boutique house. It’s not just a little hotel in the Medina of Tunis, but a story of commitment and positivity inspired by Tunisia’s rich cultural history. “Dar Ben-Gacem: The Story” is a book written in Arabic and English, to honour our Dar and to share its history and the project of its restoration and conversion into a hotel. The book is the result of a year of research on the history of Dar Ben-Gacem. It also depicts the dream that had been followed for close to 10 years and finally came true in 2013 when we started welcoming visitors from all nationalities and cultures. Dar Ben-Gacem isn’t merely a Guesthouse, but the testimony of this dream and a belief in the “Tunisian story”.

I was invited to review their second property Dar that’s been restored into a Boutique hotel now Called Dar Ben Gacem Kahia. In all my honesty, I have one word for this boutique hotel is just beautiful. At the reception, I met Mohammad at the reception who was there to greet us and show around the property. The hotel has suites & double rooms. Each room is uniquely and tastefully done, fully furnished and decorated with Tunisian arts and crafts. The rooms have been restored to facilitate all essential utilities, which is going to leave you happy at the end of the say.

The Hotel proposes a large co-working space with biggest chandeliers hanging above and a library on the first story with tasteful books ranging from art, history to new age life stories. And lastly, to enjoy your morning breakfast or evening tea, the terrace welcomes with gorgeous city views and to uplift your mood you have Sheesha for yourself.
